Persona:
Eveingstar is one of the nicest leaders you could ever ask for. He is a very patient tom, and he does not jump to conclusions. He is very fair when it comes to disputes, whether it seems that he is or not. He is a very good judge of character, making it hard for you to say or ask for something with a bad ulterior motive and he not see it.
He is very kind-hearted, and loves kits and apprentices. He cares for his whole Clan as though they were all blood relatives. He is a very laid back kind of cat, until you start messing with his Clan. Then he becomes very fierce, and many cats fear him when he is angry.
He is not the perfect tom, though. He is very honest, but he has some dark secrets that he will do almost anything to keep from his Clan. Even being very confident and popular with his Clan, he doesn't know how they would react, and he doesn't want to find out.
Another flaw? He has a hard time trusting cats. His Clan as a whole, he trusts, but certain individual cats sometimes make him uneasy. And so he trusts only those closest to him with some things. Such as his misgivings about situations or other such things.
History:
Eveningkit's grandparents on both sides were purebred Javanese. His father was a ThunderClanner, and his mother was former kittypet that turned loner. They fell in love over time, and even though they both knew that if Duskstep and Lilac were caught, they might throw Duskstep out of the Clan. So after Lilac found out she was pregnant by Duskstep, she began to stay away more.
Eventually, the tom found her and asked her to explain. She told him, and he felt dispair. He couldn't leave his mate and kits by themselves, but what could he do? So he went back to his Clan, hoping to find a way to get them out of this situation. But Lilac, thinking the kits wouldn't be on time, told him that he had more time than he really did.
So when Lilac burst into the camp a moon later, Duskstep was caught off guard. He called to her, and as she collapsed from the contractions, he rushed to her side. Other cats gathered around and it was forgotten that Duskstep knew her, in those moments.
Eventually, the moved her to the nursery and the medicine cat watched over her for a while. The leader, Fallenstar, asked who had first seen her, and Duskstep came forward. He took Duskstep to his den and confronted him, saying he'd seen the tom leave camp late at night, and sometimes alone during the day, even if his friends had asked him to go hunt with them.
Duskstep took on an act of innocence and Fallenstar gave up. It was apparent by the look the tom had when he glanced toward the entrance of the leader's den, that he wanted to be with the loner. So he let him go, without saying anything.
And as time went on, Fallenstar accepted Lilac into the Clan, naming her Lilacwind. Her kits were named Eveningkit, Emberkit, and Ebonykit. And this is where Eveningkit's story begins.
Eveningkit was the eldest son of Lilacwind and Duskstep. Even when he was young, he looked out for his two little siblings. And they all played together, the only kits that the Clan had at that time. They were a close-knit group, and so, when the two younger siblings wanted to adventure out of camp one afternoon while their mother was napping, and their babysitter talking with another cat in-depth, they convinced Eveningkit to come with them.
That afternoon, they managed to wander as far as twoleg-place. And they climbed onto the top of a fence. And the one fence they climbed, a dog lived in the place. The kits raised their fur, but didn't think anything of it.
They began to dare each other to do different things. First it was, get within a couple feet of the dog, then run back. But soon it was more and more daring things. And as they got more and more dangerous, Eveningkit dared his younge brother Ebonykit, to touch the doghouse to which the dog was chained.
Ebonykit didn't want to do it, but Eveingkit pushed him on, and finally the younger tom went to do it. And as he got closer, Eveningkit felt a chill go down his spine, and he cried for his brother to turn back. But the kit was too close, and he turned to run, and the dog grabbed him. And as they watched, the dog began to shake the kit in its jaws.
Eveningkit cried out softly, then jumped down to attack the dog as Emberkit raced back to camp. He jumped at the dog's face, scratching at the dog's eyes. The dog let go of the kit, flinging across the yard, and Eveningkit quickly dashed away, to his fallen brother.
He picked up his runty brother and drug him over the fence and barely over the other side before he saw his mother and Duskstep racing toward him and Ebonykit. He dropped his brother and licked the little tom's face, but as his mother pulled up beside him, she let out an anguished yowl. He looked at Lilacwind.
"Momma, we gotta get Ebonykit help. Please, Momma."
Eveningkit realized, as his mother licked his ears, shaking her head, that his brother was beyond help. His brother's sides barely moved, and his whole body seemed so small and weak. He licked his brother's cheek. The runt tried to smile, licked his brother's cheek, then laid his head down. After a few more moments, Ebonykit was gone.
Eveningkit could barely believe it. That night at the vigil, he and his sibling and parents sat there, remembering. He could barely keep himself from confessing his guilt then and there, had it been that he hadn't thought his parents and Clan would kick him out if they found out what had happened. And he knew Emberkit would never speak of it.
So he remained silent about his brother's cause of death, and his kithood continued on uneventful. But he always carried that guilt with him, no matter what. And as another litter was born right after the ordeal, he made himself become a sort of guardian over the newborns after their eyes and ears opened and they began to get adventurous.
When he turned six moons, Evening and Ember were made apprentices. Eveningpaw was given Duskstep as a mentor. That was when he found out who his father really was. Before that, everyone had thought of Duskstep as a foster father, but that night, Duskstep confessed, and the Clan took it in stride. They gave him the duty of training his son, and that he also had to do back to back patrols for a while, but the deed was over and done with.
As he trained Eveningpaw, he taught him many things, and when Lilacwind and Emberpaw joined them on training sessions, he learned other things. His mother taught both of them how to swim. But Eveningpaw and Emberpaw were as mischievous as ever, for their own fun, if not to honor their brother's memory.
And it was one of these mischievous outings that Eveningpaw and a close friend named Talonpaw were seperated for life. They were at the Thunderpath messing around and practicing fighting skills when Eveningpaw accidentally flipped Talonpaw onto the dark black of the Thunderpath.
After a moment, the pair thought they were safe to play, but as they were playing again, a monster was coming, and Eveningpaw heard it. He tried to get Talonpaw to get off, but the tom pushed him away, and as Eveningpaw cried out and jumped back, the monster swerved, but it hit Talonpaw.
When the monster sped away, Eveningpaw quickly rushed to his friend. He licked his face, and gently drew him off the Thunderpath right before another car came racing by. He tried to help his friend, he did, but it wasn't enough, and before he could get the tom back to camp, Talonpaw died.
He carried the body in and slid it off gently in the middle of camp. ThunderClan was appalled. They were horrified and asked what happened. He explained that they'd been near the Thunderpath, and a monster had hit him when they'd accidentally gotten too close.
ThunderClan mourned him that night, but none more than Eveningpaw. And Eveningpaw carried another burden, another death he had caused. But he kept quiet once more.
He was lucky, and through the rest of his apprenticeship, nothing else bad happened. He and his sister were named Emberwind and Eveningsong.
The night they sat vigil, Emberwind's tail curled around his own. And once they had been dismissed from their vigil, she had him come with her into the forest. She told him that she felt that she needed to leave, that ThunderClan wasn't where she belonged any more. He felt horrible sorrow, and she told him that she would see him at Gatherings, but he couldn't stand it.
He told her that he couldn't stand it if she left, so she agreed not to leave, yet. And they went back to camp. No one suspected a thing. They just went about business as normal.
But as Eveningsong began to make patrols alone, he started seeing a she-cat from RiverClan that caught his eyes. She was a stunning beauty. And as the moons passed, they became friends and eventually fell for each other. And one thing led to another, and she became pregnant with his kits. She kitted near the border, and as she died, she told him to take the kits.
He took them back to ThunderClan, claiming they were a loner's kits he had found. And he waited for RiverClan to bring it up, but they never did. At one Gathering, there was a dispute about her death, but never about kits. They hadn't even known she was pregnant.
Now he had guilt heaped upon his mind. Two deaths and a betrayal of his Clan. And he began to look in on the kits more and more. And around that time, the deputy became ill and died. And Eveningsong was promoted to Deputy at the young age of 19 moons.
This brought him more grief than before. How could his Clan trust him after he'd done all these things? He felt crushed, and lost. But he never let on. He found that ThunderClan thought of him as an adopted father to the kits that were in fact his. So they never questioned his visiting them.
And less than a moon after he was made deputy, the leader's health finally began to fail. Fallenstar was finally old enough to hear StarClan's call and heed it. And heed it he did. And then Eveningsong was made Eveningstar, and the Clan knew nothing of his guilt and betrayal. And he prayed they would never find out.
And not too long after he was made leader, his sister left. He knew that StarClan was calling her elsewhere, and under the cover of night, he wished her luck. She told him that he had no reason to feel guilty, and that he should be proud that he'd been honored with the responsibility of leading the Clan. And then she left.
Since, he has only seen her at Gatherings. And here ends the history of Eveningstar, for the rest has yet to happen.

Eveningsong padded through the forest, unsure of where he was going. He knew that he shouldn't keep these secrets from his Clan, but he couldn't tell, either. What if they attacked him? It was that he couldn't defend himself, but he cared for them so much, he didn't want them to be disappointed or angry. He had not done it intentionally, but it had happened. He'd killed his brother and best friend. And the Clan was none the wiser.
He sighed. Someday they would find out. It might be on his death bed, but they would know. And then they could deal with him as they wished. And StarClan as well. But for now, no one could know. He wished, though, that there was one cat he could tell, who would understand and not treat him different.
